Snide Studios?

Founded by Cornelius Edward Snider — filmmaker, writer, archivist, and unapologetic disruptor — Snide Studios was born out of basement clutter and creative desperation. Snide Studios is his side studios, to craft experimental creative content with Appalachia and the world at large. We adopt the language of studio filmmaking, fuse it with DIY grit, and lean unapologetically into our madness — crafting work for this new, post-corporate media age. What started rough and duct-taped has grown into a multiverse of shows, skits, podcasts, prose, games, and public access syndication. Still scrappy. Still lo-fi. Still Snide.

We make art with and for the fringe-dwellers, the kitchen-table philosophers, the mystics with mullets, and the cynics with mason jar hearts. Like if a farmer’s market started making movies — weird ones, but good ones.

What’s with the lemons?

The lemon is more than some arbitrary mascot around here. It represents contradiction: attractive but abrasive, fragrant but sour, nourishing but capable of making your whole face seize up. Pretty sour, but pretty nonetheless — and, with the right treatment, pretty sweet.

That contradiction runs through Snide Studios: comedy and sincerity, beauty and ugliness, indulgence and restraint, high-minded philosophy and low-brow bullshit. The lemon also keeps turning up throughout art, mythology, design, and the work of other strange minds fascinated by similar tensions. Maybe everybody arrived there independently. Maybe certain symbols simply attract people who look at the world a particular way.

So, what are y’all, liberals?

Snide Studios is American first and Appalachian first. We believe in individual liberty, identity, human rights, free expression, strong communities, and government that actually serves the people living under it. America is already a remarkable country with a long, complicated history worth preserving, improving, and sharing with the rest of the world — without sacrificing the humanity that makes any of it worthwhile.

Those principles can lead people left, right, sideways, or somewhere politics hasn’t bothered naming yet. A label matters less to us than whether somebody can sit at the same table, disagree without becoming poisonous, and maintain basic respect for everybody else there.

We’ll work with people we disagree with. Sometimes that’s where the interesting conversation starts.

ARE Y’ALL USING AI?

Yes. Even a duct-taped operation has paperwork. EveGPT is part of Everscope’s proprietary blend of custom local AI models, specialized agents, and homegrown workflows, concocted by Cor Snider to help keep the Network running. This is working machinery: our models and subagents already handle administration, research, planning, and technical support on our own system. Nearly all of that work runs locally, with continuing development bringing more of it under our control. We don’t do pixel-smashing or generative LLM. Cor is responsible for how the system is used; creative authorship, artistic direction, and performances remain with the people making our work.
