What is Snide Studios?
Snide Studios is where outlaw comedy meets artistic conviction — a sandbox, stage, and sanctuary for the weird, the wonderful, and the wild-hearted. Headquartered in the backroads of southwest Virginia, we broadcast our own brand of raw comedy, lo-fi multimedia storytelling, and unfiltered expression. We’re not just producing content — we’re cultivating a grassroots subculture, one laugh, monologue, meltdown, and mic check at a time. We ain’t just trying to entertain the locals — we’re building a community-driven creative engine that amplifies the region’s raw talent while sending a clear signal to the outside world: Appalachia still bites.
Founded by Cornelius Edward Snider — filmmaker, writer, obsessive entertainment archivist, and unapologetic disruptor — Snide Studios was born out of basement clutter and creative desperation. We adopt the language of studio filmmaking, fuse it with DIY grit, and lean unapologetically into our madness — crafting work for this new, post-corporate media age. What started rough and duct-taped has grown into a multiverse of shows, skits, podcasts, prose, games, and public access syndication. Still scrappy. Still lo-fi. Still Snide.
We make art with and for the fringe-dwellers, the kitchen-table philosophers, the mystics with mullets, and the cynics with heart. Like if a farmer’s market started making movies — weird ones, but good ones.
